The Bird Series

This series grew out of my love for painting people and animals. There are so many diverse species of birds, I thought it would be fun to combine various birds in scenes with people. One of my most favorite approaches has been re-creating classical paintings originally done by the Old Masters, and adding in different colors and especially birds! It also gives me the opportunity to practice painting clothing, which I find to be very challenging. I am working on a coffee table book summarizing this series, which is filled with facts about different birds. The book will be on sale at Gallery 57 in Annapolis, and also through Muddy Creek pop up exhibits.
