Acrylic pour painting is very different than regular acrylic painting so it is a category in and of itself. I got started in pour painting after meeting Stephanie Kilchenstein of the Muddy Creek Artist Guild. She is a very talented pour paint artist - you can find out more about her work here: https://www.artworksbystephaniek.com/about-the-artist
There are countless ways to mix the paint with other ingredients depending on how many "cells" you would like and the effects you are going for. My favorite (and the easiest I think) is to just pour the paint across one end of the canvas and swipe it with a wet paper towel. I found myself looking for images in the paint after I poured it, so I started embelishing the paintings with regular acrylic paint after they were dry. This really pushed me as an artist since I never knew quite what I would see in the paint!
The Owl Family painting above is currently on display at the Copper Country Community Arts Center in Hancock.
Pour Pony (last painting above) will be coming to the MCAG show this summer at Honey Harvest Farm in Lothian.
